  • The length of therapy cannot be predicted. Children may show immediate improvement, or it may be very gradual. The rate and pattern of improvement are different for every child. Progress is evaluated in six-month intervals and parents are provided with written reports that discuss the progress in relation to their therapy goals. Parent carryover of the homework program typically expedites the process.

  • This depends on the speech-language needs of the child. The frequency and time of therapy are typically determined at the evaluation. Depending on the needs of the child, he or she may attend once to four times weekly for 30-minute sessions. Therapy is only increased if needed.
